Welcome To Team Verrico

Having cancer is a long, hard and mostly joyless journey.  After an initial diagnosis, those affected enter a dark tunnel of grief, guilt, anger, denial, fear, isolation and anxiety, colliding together in a hideous kaleidoscope of blind terror.  The quest to get better is a journey filled with monsters, cliffs and bogeymen.  This charity aims to help fight this wicked foe.  We do this in three ways, which are highlighted below.  We actively invite you to apply for assistance, to offer you support and help us help others.

Team Verrico is a no salary charity.

Are you ready for the Good Willow Gathering?

Good Willow Gathering is a family camping event with a grass roots festival vibe. It’s a place to meet, simply, refocus and find your tribe. It’s a meeting point for like-minded people to slough off the mundane concerns of the daily grind and spend quality time with family and friends in a range of wholesome activities.

Want your kids to go free range, disconnected from the Wi-Fi and gadgets? Balmy summer evenings with the sun setting and everybody outdoors, roasting marshmallows around a campfire whilst you cradle a cold beer and grin inanely? That’s what we are all about.

There are toilets on site but the showers will be cold so plan accordingly. Individual camp fires are permitted but they must be raised off the ground in a suitable structure to contain ash and embers. Think warm glow rather than raging conflagration.

Gathering is designed for the family with free workshops, folk stories, food outlets, craft stalls, petting zoo and activities. A tree swing and a play area can also be accessed. Our Head of Counselling hosts a drop in tent to talk about concerns or worries. Our fairy wood is designed to delight and enchant little people.

The site boasts a number of trails which lead into deep countryside and are ideal for foraging, walking and running.

We have one stage which will be playing music through the day until 10:45 pm. There will also be a communal camp fire.
